Teaching English-Speaking Children

Matthew Robinson

As a child, I had the experience of living in Geneva with my family and attending the local French-speaking school, so I have personal experience of some of the difficulties parents face when they wish to keep their child's attainment in their native language on par with their peers back home while they are abroad.

I trained as a primary school teacher at Durham University and enjoyed two very successful years teaching Key Stage 2 children in a multi-cultural primary school in Slough, where I progressed to being the modern foreign languages subject leader. I have good knowledge of the requirements of the English National Curriculum and particular experience helping children who are still learning English and supporting children's writing across a range of genres.

I am available to teach individual children and small groups following an assessment of the learners' needs, including those attending an English-speaking school and those attending local schools.
