Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Matthew Robinson

In addition to my UK primary school training, I have a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and experience of teaching a wide range of learners at different stages of their English learning journey.

I teach:

  • Small classes in registered language schools in Munich
  • Individual learners
  • Small groups of learners (provided they are of a compatible level of English)

Before teaching proper begins I undertake a free introductory needs analysis during which learners' current level of English is assessed and their requirements discussed and agreed upon, to provide the most relevant and engaging service. All teaching occurs at the students' preferred location, which might include their home or place of work, within reasonable travelling distance of Munich city centre.

It is recommended that regular teaching sessions last for between 90 minutes and 2 hours for optimal learning but these will be determined according the learners' particular requirements. Small follow-up tasks set after teaching sessions (homework) are recommended to provide additional learning opportunities and enable the teacher to assess the students' progress.

Students will find that I am very approachable and willing to provide help over email when they need it.
